Actually I'm just making Helmet liners for the troops. My Mother got some vintage superwash wool at an estate sale with the thought of donating it for just such a purpose, and was quite surprised when I said I would just go ahead and knit it (my thoughts on the military industrial complex are rather negative). She didn't realize how many hours a day I can knit in my college classes.
I've made three now, and I am starting on the last two balls, I think I'll have enough left for some more beanies. This is the last size medium and they'll be getting larger for the big headed soldiers among them. I think I'll be using my father as the sizing for those, of course he may ask for one for himself!
